Well lookie there the house has it's stucco on it. For those of you in the Southern hemisphere reading this blog , stucco is a thick paste that comes in 25 gallon buckets. It can be coloured ,we had to select one of the colours that the developer offers, and our choise had to be different to our neighbours. Anyway the stucco is put onto the walls of the house and then smeared and smoothed with a float, much like our brick walls on the inside of our homes in South Africa were done with cement plaster. This stucco gets very hard ,as hard as cement when it dries .The wooden house is sealed very well. Richard and I wonder why they don't build like this in South Africa it would be much cheaper.
We are a little concerned about all the stones left on the sides of the concrete driveway and pathways. When they grade the ground around the house and put a bit of soil on top we are darn sure they are not going to remove all those stones. Problemo when one tries to garden . Speaking from experience our house in Boise had a patch of grass that we struggled to keep green because it had rubble and rocks under the grass.
So next saturday we will be taking shovels to remove all that stone, rather now than have to dig up all the sand and remove the stones from underneath.

Yes we know the cupboards are really cheap looking ,but we didn't want to spend a couple of thouseand upgrading on something we can live with for a while and can do at a later date. It is so easy to keep adding upgrades and so we just had to be selective on what we felt we wanted right now. So while the kitchen does not appear to have many cupboards I have a very nice pantry through that door on the left.

The entrance hall and study have been floored with laminate. That is paper on the floor at the moment to protect the wood while they work. The door next to the steps is a coat closet, very necessary for all those Winter coats .

I think that was a good idea to the laminate all the way to the stairs. That way your carpet won't get filthy like ours.

Good job Gaye (Remember when I said that as a little girl?)
