My friend Maryann celebrated another birthday yesterday. I called her on Skype and we had a good chat. I thought about Mary Ann on and off during the day about the many challenges she has faced in her life and the way she had always had a positive attitude about her trials. She always finds a silver lining in every bad situation. Richard , Genevieve and I went back to visit South Africa in 2006 we visited with many good friends . Mary Ann took us on a trip up Sani Pass, into Lesotho. She lives in the Drakensberg mountains in a little dorp ( town ) called Underberg. The name is self explanitory. I guess you need to know that a berg is a mountain in Afrikaans.
On the way back from Underberg we stopped off at Howick Falls. My sister Lynette and I went to boarding school at Howick High. Howick Falls is 364 ft high not very high at all compared to the second highest falls in the world , also found in South Africa, the Tugela Falls 3110 ft, or in Zulu the Thukela Falls.
